Welcome To My Blog!

I love flowers!

Hi, and welcome to my blog!  Below is just a little bit more about myself.

I am passionate about chocolate, love gardening, serving tea, and serving chocolate tea in my garden. I live in South Minneapolis with my (old) spouse, (third) daughter, one ragamuffin and a red-headed knee-knocker where I find time to write, present and read my children’s books, fiction and poetry.

I have authored two children’s books: The Three Betty Goats Griff and Resourceful Erica and love to visit classrooms and libraries to share my love of books and my stories. You can use the comments section to contact me if you’d like me to read at your event.

I have poetry in various issues of the MPLS Southwest Journal, in magazines and online journals, including: Jitter Magazine, Down in the Dirt Magazine (print and online), Gideon Poetry Review, Nightingale & Sparrow , Door is A Jar, Poetry Quarterly, the Poetic Bond VIII and IX and others. In addition my poetry is in over forty anthologies including three state anthologies: The Moccasin (League of Minnesota Poets), Arizona State Poets Society Sandcutters and South Dakota State Poets Society’s Pasque Petals. I have had the good fortune of winning two national and six state awards for my poetry.

Along with fellow poet, Laura Kozy Lanik, I created, edited and promote the poetry anthology titled: Upon Waking: 58 Voices Speaking Out from the Shadow of Abuse, under the sponsorship of the League of Minnesota Poets. This anthology was created to give voice to the victims and survivors of abuse. You can find out more about the “Let’s Talk About It!” project here.

You can buy a copy of Upon Waking: 58 Voices Speaking Out from the Shadow of Abuse, here. This book is also available at several bookstores around the state of Minnesota, including Moon Palace, Irreverent Bookworm, Eat My Words Bookstore and Boneshakers  (Minneapolis), Subtext Books and Next Chapter books (St. Paul),  Bookends (Wadena) and Zenith Bookstore  (Duluth). We love to support our local and independent bookstores!
